The Ramparts Choir
The Ramparts are an all-male Dublin based chamber choir. They’ve been singing together for almost 2 years now, under the careful eccentric supervision of choral Director, Ruaidhrí Ó Dálaigh. He had one dream in his head: an Irish male voice chamber choir that melts audiences’ hearts, minds…and their faces by singing epic barbershop tunes with a sprinkling of Irish trad. Ruaidhrí brought this vision to life by gathering his favourite choral singers that he met over the years and immersed them in the world of close harmony singing.
The Ramparts’ first performance was in St Michan’s church for RTEs Reflecting The Rising in March 2016. Hot off the heels of winning at Ardú’s Irish A Cappella Competition, Ruaidhri received the call of a lifetime, BBC’s Pitch Battle.
It has been a crazy roller coaster ride for the group the past few months leading up to lights, camera, action on the big BBC stage. They’ve had the honour to meet and sing with some of the top choral acts from the UK and Ireland. They were also lucky enough to work with one of the best production companies in the UK, Tuesday’s Child TV. Their biggest musical highlight was working with Producer of Pitch Perfect, Deke Sharon and the amazingly talented Nick Girard who previously mentored Pentatonix on the US show, The Sing Off.
