Shay Byrne

MC/Host Shay Byrne’s professional approach and lightness of touch means that he is very much in demand.

Many years of live radio means he can handle any situation which may arise during a live event.

A radio presenter from Dublin he has been with RTÉ Radio for over 10 years. As a researcher and producer he worked with Pat Kenny, Joe Duffy and Derek Mooney. He has also presented many of the frontline shows on Radio 1 such as The Tubridy Show and The John Murray Show.

In 2011 he became a full time member of RTÉ’s presenter line up with his own early breakfast show Rising Time. He is also currently the voice of Winning Streak on RTÉ television.

Shay has a deep interest in current affairs and economics and ran his family’s construction business for many years before becoming a full time broadcaster. He has treaded the boards with many of Dublin’s musical societies and has a fine singing voice.
