BIO

Conor Pope is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. He is Ireland’s most prominent consumer advocate and as The Irish Times Consumer Affairs Correspondent writes about everything from mortgage arrears and the cost-of-living crisis to appalling customer service, the tricks retailers play on us and how to spend less without draining the colour from our lives.

He frequently comes to the aid of readers wronged by businesses and has presented or otherwise been involved in multiple TV series across both RTE and Virgin Media including the Complaints Bureau on RTE 1 and Conor Pope’s Consumer 999 on VMTV. He also presented an hour-long episode of the award-winning Primetime Investigates which focussed on shocking customer service across a range of industries

He is a regular contributor on radio stations including RTE, Today FM and Newstalk as well as multiple regional stations and once appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and made it as far as the semi-final before being sent home after inexplicably adding a field of lavender to an otherwise lovely dessert.

He has written two best-selling money saving books and won multiple national media awards for travel writing and for covering legal issues.

He has also hosted and MCed dozens of events for state bodies, large multinationals EU bodies and financial institutions and presented a huge number of money saving talks over nearly two decades.
