MC/ Host Maura Derrane is a journalist and Television presenter with over twenty years’ experience.
For the last decade she had co-presented RTÉ’s flagship afternoon show ‘Today’ on RTÉ One, with Daithi O’Sé. Before that she presented Four Live and The Afternoon Show, also on RTÉ One. She is also a former presenter of Ireland AM on Virgin Media Television.
Before taking up her presenting roles, Maura worked as a newsjournalist and Crime Correspondent for a number of years at Virgin Media Television and TG4. She also made a number of documentaries at home and overseas.
Over her many years on air Maura has interviewed celebrities from Sir Roger Moore to Ruby Wax. But she has a particular interest in speaking to regular everyday people who have a story to tell. She also enjoys topics on health and nutrition, which affect us all.
A fluent Irish speaker from Inismór, Aran Islands, Maura has a great love of country life, and spends as much time as possible, on the island with her family and son Cal.
