Broadcaster, podcaster, author and newspaper columnist Matt Cooper is a regular host and chairman at business conferences and awards events and ensures your occasion is enriched with an appropriate, professional and well prepared approach, hitting the correct pitch as required.

He is best known for his daily radio show The Last Word on Today FM but in recent years has added the very popular Path to Power podcast to his roster. He continues his weekly columns with The Irish Daily Mail and Business Post. His versatility is emphasised by his former hosting of live sports programming – rugby, GAA and football – on TV3/VIrgin Media and his making of documentaries such as Dennis Rodman’s Big Bang in Pyongyang, when he accompanied the American basketball star to North Korea. He also presented the political tv programme The Tonight Show on Virgin Media for four years. He has also written six bestselling books – the most recent being Dynasty, the story of Dunnes Stores – and was the attributed ghost author on rugby star Jamie Heaslip’s autobiography.

Matt is a former editor of The Sunday Tribune, having been appointed at the age of 30 in 1996. He left for a career in radio in 2003 but continues to write a leader page column for the Irish Daily Mail each Wednesday. He was twice national journalist of the year and twice business journalist of the year.

Matt is a partner in the television company Playmaker-media, which devised and made the rugby series Area 22, and which made the acclaimed Olympics documentary “No Earthly King” in 2012. He also made current affairs documentaries for RTE and TV3, most recently “Ireland’s Housing Market – What’s Next?” which was broadcast on TV3 to rave reviews in November 2014.
