Des Cahill

Des Cahill is one of Ireland’s best-loved Journalists and Broadcasters, whether in sports or public affairs. His easy wit and charm make him the ideal choice as an M.C./Compere for both formal and informal functions, while he is also an accomplished after-dinner speaker.

A former Jacob’s Award Winner, Des has presented numerous sports and light entertainment programmes, and has proved himself equally popular with female audience’s host of the very popular liveline programme.

Des was named “Ireland’s Most Influential Journalist on Twitter” in 2015 & 2016. He presented Drivetime Sport  on  RTÉ Radio 1 , while on television he has presented  The Sunday Game ,  The Road to Croker ,  Play It Again, Des , and  Up for the Match .

Des recently won Irish Broadcasting’s Hall of Fame Award at this year’s PPI Awards and will be broadcasting on his 8th Olympic Games at Rio 2016.
