Alison Curtis


Alison presents one of Today FM’s biggest shows Weekend Breakfast Saturday mornings 8-11am and Sunday mornings 9-12. Weekend Breakfast is the second most listened to programme across all of Bauer Media Stations Today FM/ Newstalk/ 98FM/ Spin1038. She is currently also writing opinion pieces for The Independent and has a regular column with the Irish Examiner on parenting.

Alison loves talking to people and has a strong interest and get involved in what they are doing. She started working in radio in Ireland in the summer of 1999 as the Senior Researcher on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM while at the same time started presenting an evening show on the well-known – not yet legal pirate station Phantom FM.

Alison went on to become Ian’s Producer just short of 3 years after joining the show. The job was offered to her up front with no other people being considered and she was only 27! Alison was on the show from 1999 to 2008. And during that time, it grew to the biggest breakfast show in the country, and she organized the show to be broadcast from Japan twice, America three times, Austria annually, China, Cyprus and Portugal.

Alison produced the Ian Dempsey Breakfast for 9 years. During that time, she also presented a Sunday night alternative music show The Last Splash, which went on to become one of the stations oldest running shows and earned Curtis 4 Meteor Music Award nominations for Best National DJ.

In 2008 Alison became a full-time presenter for the station first with a night-time show then as the Early Morning breakfast show host. She has written for the Independent, the Herald and has had a weekly parenting column in the Irish Examiner. She has appeared as a panellist and contributor on many TV shows including Ireland AM, Elaine Show, The Apprentice You’re Fired and RTE’s the Today Show and guested on the Six O’ Clock Show.
